The puppy

Today Isa and I were out running the streets. We had plans to meet up with a friend of mine that I had not seen in years and her 3 kids that we had never met. Yes that is how long it has been.

So Isa and I leave the house and head down 8th ave. toward Berry st. She and I are chatting, as much as can be expected when you are having a conversation with a 2 1/2 year old. When we got to the intersection I happened to be at the front of the line and the light turned green. This is a very busy intersection. I started to cross and happened to see a little black furry thing running in the intersection. I stopped in the middle of the intersection as it ran in front of my car. It was a little puppy. That poor little puppy was so confused. I got out of the car (leaving it in the middle of the intersection) and ran over to grab the puppy. When I got up to her she fell over and started wagging her tail. What a lucky dog. When I put her in the car I realized she smelled like gasoline and her wiskers were singed off. Poor Puppy.
We took her to the vet and they said she was 7 weeks old and that she had received no veterinary care. She was infested with worms and they said she was lucky we had found her because she was already dehydrated and starving. Our vet reports to the humane society when animals are found and where they are found so if anyone reported her missing they would contact us.

She is just the cutest thing and the girls are thrilled.

After having such an eventful day she needed a nap!

Pile O'Crap

Today we went to Henderson Street Bazaar for about an hour. Chase and her friend Erica were pretty full of complaints. Tired, Hungry, Thirsty, Ice Cream... you name it... Erica spent the night last night and they stayed up until 4 this morning. I did not feel sorry for them when they had a hard time getting up at 10 to get ready. I felt sorry for me for having to listen to the whining. Hope they learned that if they stay up they still have to function during the day. On our way back we dropped Erica off at her house and came home to drag a huge pile o'crap out of our backyard that was left by the old tenants and some remodeling debris out to the curb for bulk pickup tomorrow. Our backyard seems so much bigger now. I will take some pictures when it is light out tomorrow...

Swing Set

Yesterday Mando came home with a new swing set for the girls. Oh, they were so excited, Isa wanted to swing right then but she had to settle for just sitting on the box since it was already getting dark. After I got out of school today we came home and Isa and Sophia ate very quickly and went to take a nap with the thought of getting on the swings when they woke up. I told them I would put it together while they were sleeping. Every item in my house that required assembly I put together. Apparently I am not smarter than a walmart swing set. Good Grief! I was so frustrated I almost cried. Then I realized that the metal is not shaped correctly so the screws do not fit right. At that point I was pissed off that it had frustrated me so.

Done

We are done moving!!! We finished up on Friday evening and our new house was so full you could not walk through some rooms so we sat in the kitchen and had a few beers. We spent Saturday morning getting it straightened out a bit and then went out to breakfast. We have tried to work on it a little at a time so we do not get frustrated and just throw everything away (it would be so much easier that way). We came back and worked on the house again. We got some seeds and I restarted my herb garden. I left most of my herb plants at the old house because the lady that bought the house liked them. Sunday we got up late and went out for breakfast about 1130. We ended up going to the mall then to walmart. Later Saturday our friend Monique came over and told us that people were taking the plants out of our old yard. We had an agreement with the lady that bought the house that we would be taking some of our plants and she just asked that we not leave any holes. Since we did not live there anymore people were just digging up whatever they wanted. So we went over and got our plants. We made sure to fix the holes before we left. They took up the whole back of the truck. We got them all planted at the new house yesterday evening.

Darren and Mo stayed for dinner last night and Isa was thrilled. She loves to play with Darren but they always come up with some unusual game.

We talked about our friend Thomas yesterday also. Everyone is glad he will only be gone for 4 years.

Storm

I know everyone was affected by the storm a couple of days ago. We just got our Internet back. We had a tree limb on the roof of our house and a large tree fell from our backyard and landed next to our kitchen windows. We were lucky it did not land on the house. The tree people came out yesterday afternoon about 3pm and worked until 730pm getting it all cleaned up. Once they were done the only damage left was a window they broke cutting down the rest of the tree that was on the roof.

This picture is out my kitchen window. My backyard is two rooms away from my kitchen if that helps determine the size of this tree.

Aside from that we are almost done moving, we have a couple of things left in the house, table and such, then just a bit in the backyard. Hopefully we will finish up today. We do not have an attic in the new house so we will be having a yard sale soon, since we do not have room for all the stuff we have.

I will try to post pictures of how full my house is when I get home. Its ridiculous.

The Move

Yeah, so we are moving. Our friend Monique has been the best. She comes over every day to play with Isa and I am able to get so much done while she is here. Aside from her, Mando had a friend Kenneth that came over and helped move the beds and the big tv. I was so grateful that I did not have to move them. It has been a long process to get moved. We have stuff I did not even know we owned.

Today my family came over to help. Thank you Mom, Jerry, Bo, Alexis and Perry. Before they got over to the other house I pretty much had the living room empty, then we emptied the attic. With all that stuff downstairs there was only a path to walk through. We passed everything down a line of people and my mom stacked it all up. When I came back down the stairs I was amazed by how much crap we had stored up there. If I had had a camera over there I would have taken a picture. It was a rediculous mess. We made a few trips over to the new house with the truck and they bought lunch. There is still lots more to do but I would have still been working on bringing it all downstairs if it was not for them. Thank you!

I have been promising pictures so here they are, just remember we are moving and the house is not organized...

This is Isa in the living room. Before we had real furniture in there...
